Description
In this article, methane production was evaluated from a biodigester, with a working capacity of 48 liters, residence time of 40 days and useful height of 49.6 cm. The biodigester was fed with organic waste and wastewater, with previous physical and physicochemical characterization, respectively. The biodigester mixture was neutralized with a 5% CaO solution to increase the pH from 4 to 7.2. Methane gas production was carried out from day 9 obtaining a maximum displacement of 200 ml per day 14. Total, methane production was 0.802 L, measured by displacement or mariotte bottle containing 3% NaOH solution content, in order to remove CO2. A Pearson correlation between methane production (CH4) and pH was estimated, obtaining a correlation of 0.96, indicating a strong positive correlation between the variables.
El presente artículo evaluó la producción de metano a partir de un biodigestor, con una capacidad de trabajo de 48 litros, tiempo de residencia de 40 días y altura útil de 49,6 cm. El biodigestor fue alimentado con residuos orgánicos y agua residual, con previa caracterización fisicoquímica. La mezcla del biodigestor, se neutralizó con una solución de CaO al 5% para aumentar el pH de 4 a 7,2. La producción de gas metano, se efectuó desde el día 9 obteniéndose un desplazamiento máximo de 200 ml al día 14. La producción total de metano fue de 0,802 L, medido por desplazamiento o botella de mariotte con contenido de solución de NaOH al 3%, con el fin de eliminar el CO2. Se estimó una correlación de Pearson entre la producción de metano (CH4) y el pH, obteniéndose una correlación de 0,96, lo que indica una correlación fuerte positiva entre las variables.
